Regulations, Governing The 5 Years B.A. LL.B. & B.B.A. LL.B. Courses
   
   Eligibility For Admission
Candidates seeking admission to the Law Course should have passed an examination 10+2 Course of Schooling recognized by the educational authorities of the Central or the State Governments or Possesses such academic qualifications which are considered equivalent to such 10+2 course by the Bar Council of India and should have secured a minimum of 45 percent marks at the final examination of the said programme of schooling.
Minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination shall not be below 45% of total marks in case of general category applicants and 40% of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.

Maximum age for seeking admission is limited to 20 years in case of general category of applicants and to 22 years in the case of applicants from SC/ST and other backward communities as on 1st June.

Reservation : Reservation for the SC/ST and other backward classes shall be made in accordance with the directions of Government in force from time to time.
Title and Commencement

a) These Regulations may be called the Regulations governing the five year course for the
    Bachelor's Degree in Law.

b) These shall come into force from the beginning of the academic year.
Teaching Hours

Each paper shall be taught for 6 hours in a week. Each practicals shall be for 3 hours in a week.
Scheme of Examination

There shall be a University Examination at the end of every six months. First, third and fifth, seventh ninth semesters examinations are held generally in the month in December every year. Second, fourth, sixth, eighth and tenth semester's examinations are held generally in the month of May every year. I year comprises of I semester and II semester. II year comprises of III semester IV semester. III year comprises of V semester and VI semester. IV year of comprises of VII and VIII semesters. V year comprises of IX and X semesters. Each paper shall be for a maximum of 100 ,marks and three hours durations.
The fee for examination in each paper shall be as prescribed by the University.
Standard of Passing

1.  No candidate shall be declared to have passed the examination of any semester unless
     he/she has obtained a minimum of marks in each of the paper.

2.  Candidates passing the examination of all the semester as provided above shall be
     awarded following classes:
       I)  Student Securing 45% and above but less than 50% shall be declared in the Pass
            Class.
      II)  Those students securing 50% and above but less than 60% of the aggregate of the
            total marks prescribed for the examination shall be placed in Second Class.
     III)  Those students securing 60 and above but less than 70% shall be placed in First
            Class.
     IV)  Those students securing 70% and above shall be declared to have passed in First
            Class with distinction.

3.  The rank of a candidate at LL.B. examination shall be declared on the basis of the
     marks secured in all the papers of the X semesters examination. Students who
     successful complete third year (6th semester) will be awarded a degree: Bachelor of
     Academic Laws (B.A.L.)

4.  The rank of a candidate at the B.A.L. examination shall be declared on the basis of the
     marks secured in all papers of the I, II, III, IV and VI semester examinations of the
     course put together.

5.  No candidate shall be eligible for a rank unless he/she has passed each of the
     examinations, i.e., each of the Semesters I to VI semester and each of semester VII to
     X semesters in first attempt.
