Discipline
- Students while entering the College premises shall be in college Uniform as per dress code.
- Loitering around in the college when the classes are going on/ damaging the college property and indulging in physical violence with their fellow students are treated as acts of grave indiscipline. Those who are found guilty of such misconduct will be dealt with severely including levying of fine.
- Every student shall regularly attend the classes conducted by the college in accordance with the time-table announced by the Principal of the college from time to time.
- Classes commence at 7.30 a.m. All Students shall be in their respective class rooms by 7:25 a.m. Late comers will not be allowed to enter the class. Attendance will be taken at the commencement of class every period and reviewed monthly.
- Tests will be conducted periodically by the course teachers. College will conduct preparatory examination. Writing Preparatory examination is compulsory for all the students. Students shall attend the class tests and examinations, complete and submit their assignments/records on time. Students shall attend seminars, guest lectures without fail. All the students undergoing District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) internship/practicals shall necessarily participate in guest lectures, seminars, visits to courts and lok adalats and legal aid camps, which will carry marks. Internship under Judiciary is compulsory within the 3 Year LL.B & 5 Year B.A., LL.B course completion.
- Non-completion and non-submission of assignments on time, absentees for seminars, guest lectures and for Tests and Preparatory Examination will be viewed seriously.
- Regular classes should not be disturbed for practising cultural, sports or moot court activities.
- Picnics, tours and similar activities should be organised only under the supervision of faculty in-charge.
- The Students who have taken admission to the college shall be issued with an college id card and the students are required to wear the id card compulsory inside the college premises. Student shall produce the ID card at the time of borrowing library books, to obtain no due certificate and in the Examination Hall or at any time as and when demanded.
- Students admission to the course is purely provisional and the same will be confirmed only after admission is approved by the University. In case of non-approval, fees paid by the student will not be refunded.
- Admission is always annual. Student who takes admission in the I Year Law course cannot discontinue the course once his/her admission is approved by the University. If a student wants to discontinue in the middle of the course, student has to pay fees for the unfinished course.
- Students are strictly prohibited using cell phones during class hours. If anybody is found in possession of cell phone it will be confiscated and disciplinary action will be taken against such students.
- Every student shall abide by the Rules laid down by the college and shall be responsible for maintaining the discipline of the college. It is expected that every student will maintain dignity and decorum expected of a Law student.
- No student shall apply or obtain or avail of any benefit or concession or scholarship or privilege as a student of the college without the express written prior permission of the Principal.
- Every student shall pay the prescribed fee and other dues due to the college on or before the last date fixed by the Principal.
- Smoking, chewing of gutkha, consumption of alcohol in the campus is strictly prohibited.
- No student shall use any property of and the facility or service available in the college for any purpose other than for legitimate purposes and with the permission of the Principal.
- Every student shall hold or make use of properties of and the facilities available in the college in trust and not misuse or abuse of the same.
- No student shall act in a manner so as to destroy damage or otherwise harm the properties of and the facilities available in the college.
- Students are required to behave well at all times. Every student shall behave or conduct with the members of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college or with the colleague students in a manner so as not to result in insult, injury or annoyance. Students are expected to address their teachers and all members of the Staff with due respect and politeness. They must show gentleness and courtesy to their peers. Refined manners, uprightness, self restraint and gentleness should distinguish every student of this College.
- Change of address or phone numbers of the students or their parents shall be communicated immediately to the principal.
- Students shall keep in touch with notice board periodically for announcements regarding class test/special classes and award of scholarships., etc.
- The management reserves the right to suspend or expel any student for reasons of habitual disturbance in the class and repeated disobedience of instructions of the teachers or the Principal and whose presence in the college is found to be injurious to the maintenance of order and discipline of the college.
- Every student is bound and governed by the code of conduct specified supra and any/every student who violates the discipline/code of conduct is liable to be removed or rusticated from the college by the Principal in accordance with the provisions of Section 62(2) b of the Karnataka State Universities Act 1976.
Attendance
- Each semester shall be taken as a unit for the purpose of calculating attendance.
- Students shall attend lecture classes as well as seminars, Moot Courts etc., during each semester as the college may prescribe and not absent themselves from work without adequate reasons.
- Attendance is taken in the class at the commencement of every period through IPOMO software and the message is generated and sent to the parents every day on student's absence in every period. It is reviewed monthly. Monthly status of attendance for previous month is announced on 10th of every month. Parents/guardians of the students shall watch for the status of their wards' attendance and in case of shortage, they shall necessarily meet the class teacher/mentor.
- Permission to appear for the University Examinations of First, Second & Third years of the undergraduate degree programs is given only to those students who register an attendance of not less than 75% of the classes held in each subject each year as per the University regulations. It will also be considered on the basis of the performance in the tests, class examinations, attendance and behaviour of the students.
- A student shall be considered to have completed the semester if he/she has attend not less than 75% of the number of working periods comprising the course during the said semester and the contact programme classes, tutorials and practical training classes as may be prescribed for each subject for each semester throughout the course and if his or her conduct or progress have been satisfactory.
- Attendance at all Tests, Class examinations, Practical examinations and Moot courts is compulsory. In case of absence from the tests and examinations leave must be obtained in advance from the Principal. Such leave will be granted only under extra-ordinary circumstances and for satisfactory reasons. In case any student is absent for moot court or for practical examination, no moot court or practical examination will be repeated or conducted for such students.
- There will be continuous and comprehensive evaluation of student's over all performance. Total performance of the student throughout the academic year will be assessed and marks will be awarded in internals. No candidate shall be eligible to move to the next higher class unless he has passed the semester examination of lower class as prescribed by regulations.
